NAPI - Newcastle Action for Parent and Toddler Groups Initiative

NAPI provides a support service for all parent and toddler groups across the city. To do this, support workers visit on a regular basis, newsletters are circulated termly and resources are provided.

The organisation supports local parents to set up groups in their own area.

A citywide list of parent and toddler groups is continually updated and made available to the Newcastle Support Directory, parents and professionals involved in signposting parents to groups.

NAPI's service offers parenting support through local peer group sessions for parents with children under 5.

NAPI run a toy library for childminders at the Heaton Community Centre on Trewhitt Road. There is a fee of £15 per year, this includes membership of Play Plus ,a service for Childminders who look after children who have additional needs but may not need specialist toys. NAPI can also provide information relating to childminder drop-in and toy library services across the city.  NAPI also run a free toy library for parent and toddler groups.
