Kooth - December Monthly Update

Kooth - December Monthly Update

How did we get here?? Christmas is, once again, just around the corner and for a lot of people this is an exciting and positive time of the year, hopefully lots of us will get to enjoy it with friends and family in a way that we were unable to last year. What can't be ignored, however, is that Christmas is not the best time of year for everybody and some people find it both lonely and challenging for a variety of reasons. At Christmas time it would be nice to think everyone had access to support should they need it. Kooth.com is here to help throughout December and is also available across the Christmas period offering Free, Safe and Anonymous Wellbeing Support for any Young Person whatever their concerns or worries.

We have recently launched a Parents and Carers Resource Pack, this has been created to support all parents and carers when helping Young People dealing with their Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing, as well as explaining about our service and how Young People can access and use it. Our new Parent and Carer Resources can be found here

Our Service is available to support Young People aged 11-25 across Newcastle and Gateshead. The Kooth website is available 24/7, 365 days of the year, giving Young People access to articles, discussion boards, peer to peer support and self-help activities, alongside the opportunity to contribute to all parts of the site. Young People can also speak, via text based chat, with one of our online counsellors or emotional wellbeing practitioners between 12 noon and 10pm Monday-Friday and between 6pm and 10pm on Saturday and Sunday

Sometimes our chat service times are subject to change during the holiday period, please see below our online chat availability over Christmas and New Year, please find online versions of this resource here:

Please also see below our 'What's on Kooth in December?' resource which highlights some of the discussion boards and live forums that can be accessed on the site during the month of December. If you wish to use or share this resource please find a number of versions of it here
