Open day at Sir Charles Parsons School

Our Open day took place on Wednesday 3rd July (1:45 pm to 3:00 pm)

Our student voice (obtained through the EHCP process) has resulted in the development of a new 6th form curriculum specific to each of our student pathways. Our new curriculum continues to develop students next steps in terms of preparing them for adulthood.

We invited staff, parents/carers and other professionals to our school to showcase an open afternoon, in which they can could be informed about the content of our 6th form curriculum from September 2024. The curriculum is designed to help to develop students in their next steps towards adulthood.

The showcase comprised of:

• A brief presentation about our curriculum

• Take a tour of 6th form and view our amazing facilities.
• Explore Charlie’s Café. Speak to students about their experiences within the café. Taste the wonderful produce made by students (be sure to bring some pennies!)
• Find out about our links with Wood Hub (where students are engaged with industry experts in the field of Woodwork).
• Experience Forest School and what outdoor learning looks like for our learners.

• View our sensory curriculum and what learning looks like for our complex needs’ learners
