Heaton Community Childcare offer full day care places, a Playgroup, an Out of School Club with Holiday scheme and Crèche Facility.
We follow Early Years Foundation Stage led by children’s interests, access to a large attractive outdoor play area. We are part of Sure Start East and lead setting for South Heaton Children’s Centre.
I attend local toddler groups, local library. Local park , school fun days, swimming pools, nature tots. I have a small back yard with climbing frames and sit and ride toys.
I provide a warm and friendly atmosphere to all children whatever race, culture or gender and ensure safety at all times. Children have access to a broad range of resources, play opportunities and activities. I work in partnership with parents and use the framework Birth to Five Matters effectively to involve children and further their development. I also provide all meals, snacks and drinks which contain a range of different nutrients, fruit and vegetables and meet the needs of cultural and religious practices.
The Children and Families Act 2014 requires each local authority in England to appoint at least one person for the purpose of discharging the local authority’s duty to promote the educational achievement of its Looked After Children (LAC) and Young People (LAYP). The Virtual School head teacher (VSH) leads on this and the Virtual School is the support service for undertaking this role in supporting the education of all our looked after children and looked after young people.
