The Turf @ St John's is a community facility run by St John's Primary School.
Between the hours of 9am and 4.30pm the Turf is often used by the school, however external bookings may be available for the pitch and the indoor hall & activity area. From 5pm to 9.30pm every weekday and all across the weekend a variety of sessions take place or the turf is available for private hire at extremely competitive prices
Our pitch is ideal for junior football training & 7 v 7 matches, and adult social games with friends or colleagues.
Founded in 2005 through a partnership between The FA and UEFA Hat-Trick delivers around 70 sessions each week to people in Newcastle upon Tyne and now in Gateshead.
We support the young people to reach their full potential by providing opportunities to participate in positive activities that offer training, qualifications & leadership. We work across the city of Newcastle and borough of Gateshead in areas of high deprivation, the top 10 percent of most deprived neighbourhoods across the country.

Our multi sport is running:

The activities we offer are:

Every day will be slightly different but will always include physical activity such as gallery tour or nature walk, activities such as craft, story telling or mindfulness and a healthy snack and hot meal.

Each event lasts 2 hours (1 hour pool time with inflatables/Slides & 1 hour in the café area where we will be providing the hot food). All bookings need to be made by visiting East End Pool and booking onto the sessions.
SEND Only sessions - are family swim sessions to those families who have children and young people with SEND. Available to all children aged 4-16

A wide range of sports and activities including - basketball, football, dodgeball, gymnastics, fencing, archery as well as a wide range of enrichment activities and arts & crafts
Children will be provided with a hot meal. This will differ each day e.g. pasta, sandwiches and jacket potatoes with toppings.

The Turf @ St John's is based within St John's Primary School. All of the staff who work in the facility have the same training as those based in school.
The vast majority of staff working at The Turf also have a role within school.
April 2nd - April 5th 10am - 3pm.
Daily activities include sport, games and eggcellent crafts. You can attend all day or drop in as you want.
A hot meal and snacks will be available daily. Any left over food will be available to take home.

All sessions are at Benfield School Drama Studio from 10 - 2pm and suitable for children aged 5 and older. Free to attend and lunch is included.
Parents can drop their children off at the beginning of the session and return to pick them up at the end.
Children North East @ the Cowgate Centre are offering sessions for children and young people aged 9 – 16, activities will include:
Opening time: Monday 8th April - Thursday 11th April 10am - 2pm
We will be providing FREE dance and fitness sessions to children ages 5-12 years for those on free school meals. Children will also receive a free, healthy packed lunch at each session.
Easter camp with various activities including football, dodgeball, basketball, dance, mini trampoline, gymnastics. Plus arts and crafts, cooking skills and forest school!

We provide hot and healthy meals to families every Tuesday and Thursday during school holidays, as well as crafts, games and enrichment activities. We are open 11.15am – 1pm.
