Barnardo’s Wellness Recovery Project

The Barnardo’s Wellness Recovery Project offers free, person-centred 1-2-1 counselling for women and children (including families) across Northumbria who have been victims of, and witnessed, domestic abuse. The project is based in Jesmond at the Barnardo’s Orchard Mosaic offices but we also offer outreach support in schools and the local community where appropriate.

Referrals for counselling can be made by any professionals and self-referrals are also accepted.

The Barnardo’s Wellness Recovery Project also offers the Real Love Rocks relationships education programme for free to all primary, secondary and special education schools across Northumbria. RLR is an age appropriate, 4 week programme that supports primary children to understand healthy relationships, grooming, feeling safe and being safer online and secondary children to understand healthy relationship and consent, child sexual exploitation and grooming, feeling safe, sexting and pornography.  The Real Love Rocks programme can be booked directly through us.
