Children’s Endocrinology
Our children’s endocrinology and diabetes service is a regional centre for children with hormonal disorders, including diabetes.
Our team run an extensive range of clinics in diabetes, general endocrinology and growth.
Alongside this we run specialist clinics for children with Turner Syndrome and Metabolic Syndrome.
We also run a number of joint clinics with other clinical colleagues specialising in:
- Genetics
- Cancer of the brain and spinal chord
- Metabolic bone disease
- Bone dysplasias
- Patients who have undergone bone marrow transplants

Additional Information
We are based at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle.
We also deliver services at joint clinics in Hartlepool, Stockton-on-Tees, Middlesbrough and Sunderland so you don’t have to travel as far to see one of our specialist team.
A doctor is on call for diabetes 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Our paediatric endocrinologist provides out of hours telephone support.
