PLACES STILL AVAILABLE for HAF Arts Summer Project at the Tree House

PLACES STILL AVAILABLE for HAF Arts Summer Project at the Tree House

We have added 2 additional Family spaces per day, as we have a wonderful safe, space indoors and outside to play and create in.

This is FREE to any Newcastle family that has a child/ren with SEND and their siblings.

The project will be based at the newly refurbished Tree House Early Years Centre in Cruddas Park.

We talked to parents and carer groups about the refurbishment of this new centre, to help us create the look and feel of the new space. They asked if we could create vibrant wall art inspired by children and young people with SEND and so this summer project will focus on creating 5 new wall art pieces with participants.

The lead artist is Josie Stewart, a multi-media community artist.

Josie will be supporting you and your family to create a whole range of artworks in the beautiful setting of The Tree House Early Years Centre, taking our inspirations from nature and our imaginations.

Together, in a series of artist led workshops, we will be exploring different art techniques such as painting and drawing, making plaster reliefs , mosaics, collage and more which will contribute towards designing and decorating murals for the interior building.

Newcastle Arts Development Team and Newcastle Holiday Activity Fund are jointly funding the project.

There will be 4 hours of activities for families each day. The activities will run from 11am until 3pm each day.

This will include 2 hours of free physical activity/movement as well as the art workshops. This will be provided by Bare Toe'd.

There will be healthy cooking and Food Nutrition workshops, and everyone taking part will get free healthy food each day. This will be provided by Healthworks.

We are looking to book 8 families each day – families can be one child or full family including siblings.

When you book tickets, you can only book 1 Family Ticket which covers all of the members of your party.

Please select tickets for the days which you would like to attend.

We currently have free spaces on:

You can watch the video below where Hassan, our SEND Youth Voice Trainee explains what to expect from the event.

Please give full details of any dietary requirements you or any members of your family have. You will have to fill this in when you select tickets.
