We are the heartbeat of the city. Come and be a part of a long and proud history where we strive to be the best in everything we do, on and off the pitch. Bringing the people and communities together, join the Newcastle United Family, as we embark on the next steps of our exciting journey.
About the role
We’re looking for enthusiastic individuals to help us prepare and deliver the very best surfaces for our players to play and train on. Our Apprentice Groundstaff will learn how to complete ground maintenance on all of our pitches at our training ground, academy and at St. James Park! You’ll also help the team maintain the surrounding areas.
Alongside a load of on-the-job training (we love sharing what we know!) you will be fully funded (and given study time) to complete a Sports Turf Operative Level 2 apprenticeship qualification.
Your impact
You’ll have a very strong work ethic and high levels of commitment to work with a team of people who are passionate about the job they do. You’ll always be on time, ready to face each new day with enthusiasm and be a real self-starter with a commitment to personal and career development.
You’ll also possess minimum of 5 GCSEs including English & Maths at grade 3 or above, or an equivalent vocational qualification level 1 with either English and Maths at grade 3 or above or Functional Skills level 1.
Therefore, in a nutshell, we are really looking for a willingness to get stuck in and learn. This is an apprenticeship after all!
