There are a number of advice lines providing women with free, confidential legal advice on a range of issues including domestic abuse, family breakdown, arrangements for children, rape and sexual assault, harassment and stalking and immigration. They all come together in their own community with their children who are under the age of 5.

Parent and toddler groups offer play opportunities for children from birth to 5 year old, as well as an opportunity to mix with others. They also offer support to adults and a break from the normal routines of the day.

Rowanwood is a psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU) based at the Carleton Clinic in Carlisle. It is a mixed sex ward with ten single rooms, all of which have en-suite facilities. Rowanwood is a Cumbria wide inpatient unit that offers intensive nursing support and therapeutic interventions to people who are assessed as requiring high levels of care in a safe and secure environment. The unit is designed for short term care (ideally no more than eight weeks) but length of stay is determined by the clinical needs of patients and their move towards recovery.

Samaritans of Tyneside have been in Newcastle-upon-Tyne since 1965 serving the local communities of Newcastle, Gateshead and south-west Northumberland. Now based at 15 Portland Terrace, Jesmond, NE2 1QQ, we are near Jesmond Metro Station and on the B1600. Unfortunately, we are unable to see face to face callers at the Branch right now, but our volunteers are still going in every day to answer the telephone and reply to emails.
