Cambian Dilston College is an independent specialist provider of further education in North East England, offering day and up to 52-week residential placements for young people with a learning disability, Autism Spectrum Disorder and complex needs.


Canning Street is a unique school situated in the inner-west of Newcastle and draws children from Benwell, Elswick and West City. Our vibrant, modern school is at the heart of the local community and is often referred to as being βan oasisβ. The school serves a very diverse population comprising a wide range of ethnic, religious and cultural backgrounds. This area of the city is well-served by a range of community support groups and services.

Central Walker Church of England Primary School is a Voluntary Aided School that caters for boys and girls between the ages of 2 and 11 years. It is part of The Riverside Learning Trust. Children normally transfer to Walker Technology College or Benfield School in the September after their eleventh birthday. The staff of the secondary schools liaise closely, the children visit and meet the teachers on many occasions before they transfer.


We provide Early years foundation stage education to children age 2 to school starting age. We are a friendly, easily accessible setting who accept children of all abilities and cultures.
We provide a safe and fun environment where children thrive and prepare for their next transition.
Our sessions are 8.00-11.15am and 12.15-3.30pm - we offer a flexible drop off/pick up from 8.00-8.45am and 2.45-3.30pm. We also offer lunch cover on all four days to which funded entitlement can be used.
Ridley Villas is supported housing that provides help for women who have children, who are living in Newcastle and Gateshead who need support with overcoming issues with drugs or alcohol, or both.
Suitable for girls aged 13 - 16 years.
Our FREE sessions are a safe space for young people to come and socialise, learn about the world around them and take part in activities like;
- arts and crafts
- cooking
- gardening
- group games
- sports
The sessions are led by the young people, they choose what they would like to do in their youth clubs and plan their activities. Snacks and drinks are available in all sessions.
Cooking, Healthy Eating, Fitness & Fun
A range of activities will be on offer these will include cooking, physical activities, enrichment activities such as arts & crafts and fun, engaging ways to learn about food and nutrition.
This is a warm, caring and kind place because:
- We have a quiet/calm space for young people to chill out in.
- Activities can be adapted if needed
- We can offer peer support if required
- Parents/carers can contact staff to discuss individual needs.

Hi my name is Wendy Preen I'm a registered childminder and I live in Southwest Denton just off the A69 roundabout.
I'm friendly, honest and reliable and feel my family can offer a very friendly welcoming environment for both your child and yourself. My aim is to give you the upper most confidence to know your child is safe, happy ,loved and cared for whilst you go to work.

The Family Hub includes Start for Life and Early Help family support for families with children of all ages. This includes play and early learning sessions, health and wellbeing, parenting skills and support, antenatal support and breastfeeding. Early Help family support is for families with children up to the age of 19 in need of additional support.

The Children and Young Peopleβs Service provides a single service to all children and young people aged 0-18 years living in Newcastle and Gateshead who present with mental health difficulties.
This includes children and young people who may be living in difficult and challenging circumstances.
