Over The Wall provides FREE residential activity camps for children and teenagers living with serious health challenges and their families, to enable them to reach beyond their perceived limitations and rediscover a whole new world of possibilities. Our camps help develop the confidence, self esteem, coping strategies and peer relationships of our campers.

What to expect
A parent and toddler group is a welcoming and friendly group of adults, mothers, fathers, childminders or carers that come together with their children who are under the age of 5 in their own community. They offer play opportunities for children from birth to 5 year old, as well as an opportunity to mix with others. They offer support to adults and a break from the normal routines of the day. Booking maybe required at some group.

Our breastfeeding social groups are for families living in Newcastle and are relaxed, informal and friendly. They are a great way to meet other breastfeeding mums, get handy tips and information and are an opportunity to get support from a member of staff or volunteer.

Did you know babies love to boogie?
Music and dancing is great fun for infants and parents and also plays an important role in helping develop your relationship with them.
Designed for under 2s, Boogie Bairns uses the power of music and other sensory experiences to create a focused time for parents to bond and connect with their infant. The time spent together responding to sounds and movement is also a chance for you to learn how your little one communicates.
Babies come along and have fun, explore new ideas for play and help your parents to notice what you are communicating.
Parents come along and get tips on managing your own stress, helping your baby manage their feelings, keeping connected with others and being kind to yourself.

Baby massage is designed to help strengthen baby - parent communication, boost self esteem and confidence in parenting, enhance understanding of baby development relax parent and baby, encourage a deeper sleep for baby, relive wind, colic and constipation and develop muscle tone and co-ordination. The course (suitable from birth) consists of five one hour classes, run over five consecutive weeks. During the course you will be taught a full body massage routine and a short routine to help with colic. there will be time for questions and a chance to share experiences.
The Community Family Hub includes Start for Life and Early Help family support for families with children of all ages identified as needing additional support. Start for Life focuses on services from conception to two years. This includes play and early learning sessions, health and wellbeing, parenting skills and support, antenatal support and breastfeeding. Early Help family support is for families with children up to the age of 19 in need of additional support.

This includes play and early learning sessions, health and wellbeing, parenting skills and support, antenatal support and breastfeeding. The MA-Simba Project supports children and young survivors who have experienced, witnessed or are living with domestic abuse. They aim to engage children and young people in creative activities that raise personal, social, economic and cultural aspirations and provide them with networks and therapeutic support that encourages safe behaviour, resilience and self-esteem.

The National FGM Centre is a partnership between Barnardo’s and the Local Government Association. It was established in 2015 to achieve change in the provision of services for children and their families who are affected by FGM. In 2017, the focus of their work was extended to include Breast Ironing/Flattening and Child Abuse Linked to Faith or Belief. Their website includes a knowledge hub with information, guidance and resources for practitioners and information about training.
