The garden works with nature to create a great place for people and wildlife to enjoy. The garden is about our community, whether in Scotswood and Benwell or the wider area, and we welcome people of all ages and backgrounds to get involved in our work. This can be as a visitor to the garden, as a member of our volunteer team, or as a participant in one of our events. We welcome you to visit and enjoy the fruits of our labours.

The young people of North Benwell will generate their own hope for the future and be the agents of their own destinies.
These sessions mean that a young person can speak to workers as and when they feel the need of support or advice, or often when a crisis arises.

Detached sessions allow the North Benwell Youth Project to engage with potential users and meet young people in the street.
The FAB (Fantastic and Brilliant) Group is a group of young people aged 11 to 25 who have SEND. Every month, the FAB Group come together to make friends, share experiences and exchange insights into support for young people with SEND in the local area and beyond. The monthly meet-ups alternate between in-person meetings and online meetings. Learn more at FAB Group - Children North East (children-ne.org.uk).

During group clubs, there are opportunities to explore life and relationship issues and practise life-skills such as planning and organising in a safe environment, as well building self esteem and confidence.
A group ran by North Benwell Youth Project. NBYP wish to see the young people of North Benwell enjoy the same possibilities of life as their peers in other areas of Newcastle upon Tyne: the young people of North Benwell will generate their own hope for the future and be the agents of their own destinies.
These sessions are led and coordinated by Gem Arts and funded through Youth Music, to support local organisations to offer structured high quality music sessions to young people delivered by professional musicians.

Join our volunteer-led cake decorating group and practice a variety of cake decorating and sugar craft techniques, including piping, flower making and modelling using edible materials.

This is to support ages 16-25 year olds. For North Benwell Families only.
Staff are on hand to offer advice and guidance, help with C.V.’s, applying for online courses, applying to college, applying for benefits and settled status applications too. There are laptops and P.C.'s and printers available to use.
We can also support young people with housing issues, apostils, document identity, opening bank accounts, and navigating the universal credit system.

Come and sing with us! Our youth choir will provide a place of belonging. It is a family where young people can be educated on the rich heritage of gospel music. They can explore harmonies and learn to work together. The choir will be ran by lead vocalists from Voices of Virtue Gospel Choir, alongside an instrumentalist. Choir members will have the opportunity to present their own shows and appear in Voices of Virtue concerts or events.
The Gaming Social is a weekly gaming drop in for young people to socialise and mix in a relaxed environment. This is free to allow anyone to attend. Gaming Social is a place where gamers play a huge range of consoles with friends.
We started our in-person Gaming Social in 2017. It is a way for people who love gaming to get together and socialise over something we’re all passionate about. We've developed a collection of games and consoles.
Curious Youth Music is a group for LGBTQIA+ musicians and aspiring producers aged 12-19. Curious Youth Music is a session for all to share your passion for music with fellow music fans. Come along to our meet-ups. You can have jam sessions, develop your song writing and work with professional musicians. Learn more about the music industry with exciting opportunities! Our Contemporary Dance Class is open to young people with learning disabilities who enjoy dance. All you have to do is turn up! Led by a qualified contemporary dance practitioner, beginners contemporary is perfect for those wishing to attend a fun class which will leave you feeling energised, inspired and worked out!
