The Charity Patchwork was set up in order to help and educate young people between the ages of 8 and 25 years resident in the West End of Newcastle Upon Tyne and the surrounding area. This includes those who are involved in the Criminal Justice System or at risk of becoming involved in the Criminal Justice System, without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race or political, religious or other opinion.
We are an independent and charitable organisation which exists to meet the needs and promote the interests of asylum seekers and refugees who have arrived or have settled in the North of England.
EDNE aims to help people in Tyneside, Wearside, Northumberland and County Durham whose lives are affected by eating distress, or eating disorders. We do this by providing a range of services including individual counselling, mindfulness courses, a support group for carers, health topic workshops, information and training. We also work in schools and other settings to increase knowledge and awareness of eating distress and its effects.
A Specialist service for people who's lives are affected by someone else's alcohol or drug use. PROPS can offer one to one work, peer support groups, and training around substance misuse. They also offer carer and family training, respite breaks and an emergency out of hours telephone helpline. PROPS also work with young people 11+ who have been impacted by someone else’s drug or alcohol misuse.

Open to anyone who has experienced anti-LGBTQIA+ violence or harassment and needs a safe space to talk. The helpline is run by LGBTQIA+ people and is completely confidential. It is operated by Galop, the LGBTQIA+ anti-violence charity supporting people facing hate crime, domestic abuse and sexual violence.

The Northumbria SARC offers free support and practical help to anyone in Northumbria who has experienced sexual violence and/or sexual abuse.

SomeOne Cares is a counselling service with an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) who can provide emotional and practical support to meet the needs of anyone aged 11+ who has experienced sexual violence at any time in their life whether they have reported this to the police or not. The ISVA can also support anyone who is thinking of reporting an offence to the police and would like impartial information around this.
Support for adult victims of intimate image and video abuse. They can provide advice, guidance and support to remove intimate content which has been non-consensually shared online.

The National FGM Centre is a partnership between Barnardo’s and the Local Government Association. It was established in 2015 to achieve change in the provision of services for children and their families who are affected by FGM. In 2017, the focus of their work was extended to include Breast Ironing/Flattening and Child Abuse Linked to Faith or Belief. St Vincent’s Centre, Newcastle is a community support project run by the St Vincent de Paul Society. It is a community hub which offers Vinnies drop-in each Tuesday, a free 3 course lunch for local guests, with wrap-around services including free haircuts, health checks, and welfare advice. Every Thursday there is a Cost-of-Living Market, and daily Vinnies Community Pantry offers a selection of groceries at reduced prices. St Vincent’s is also home to the Justice & peace Refugee project, supporting people seeking sanctuary in the city.
