Tyneside Women’s Health was established in 1985 with the key aim of helping women to improve their mental health and emotional wellbeing.
Tyneside Women’s Health offers a range of interventions for women including drop in sessions, support groups, mental health courses, counselling, and various therapeutic activities such as relaxation. We have also introduced a range of online and virtual support services. Please visit our website for more information.
Our main Centre is based in central Gateshead, and we have a second Centre in Byker, Newcastle.
The Alan Shearer Short Break Centre offers specialised breaks, from overnight to longer stays, for children and adults with a range of disabilities.
Our dedicated staff are trained in caring for people with profound and multiple disabilities, autism and Asperger's Syndrome.
We offer skilled and experienced support for those with additional health or medical needs and those who require specialist care.
Samaritans of Tyneside have been in Newcastle-upon-Tyne since 1965 serving the local communities of Newcastle, Gateshead and south-west Northumberland. Now based at 15 Portland Terrace, Jesmond, NE2 1QQ, we are near Jesmond Metro Station and on the B1600. Unfortunately, we are unable to see face to face callers at the Branch right now, but our volunteers are still going in every day to answer the telephone and reply to emails.
We're here to help adults and young people in Newcastle with all sexual health and contraception needs.
Our service offers advice, information, testing and treatment for sexual health issues, whilst also providing an online option for testing and treatment and hormonal contraception to make it more convenient for you.
The Children and Young People’s Service provides a single service to all children and young people aged 0-18 years living in Newcastle and Gateshead who present with mental health difficulties.
This includes children and young people who may be living in difficult and challenging circumstances.
