balletLORENT is a national touring dance theatre company based at the John Marley Centre, Newcastle. We create performance works for all ages, and have an extensive community dance class and workshop programme.
balletLORENT offers a range of feel good classes each week at our home in the John Marley Centre, including knitting, move it! yoga and many more!
The harm reduction service delivers a range of open access and confidential support for drug and alcohol users. You can access support such as needle and syringe exchange, nursing support, blood-borne virus testing, and access to naloxone. You will also get lots of advice or information, and the staff will work with other services to support your needs.
There are other needle exchange services in the city, including pharmacy exchanges, and the exchange at the Joseph Cowan Health Centre.

As the impacts of climate change intensify every year, more and more young people are joining the movement to take action and raise awareness to protect our planet and wildlife.
Eco Influencers provides opportunities for young people aged 10-18 to design and deliver their own environmental social action projects that really make a difference. From outdoor eco classrooms to mindfulness wildlife gardens and recycling campaigns, young people across the region are leading the way.
How the project works:
The Twisting Ducks Theatre Company provides accessible opportunities for people with learning disabilities and autistic people to express themselves creatively, and to develop their skills, confidence, independence and social connections.
Our weekly Performing Arts and Music academies are for people with Learning disabilities and autistic people, aged 16 and over.
Whether you want to DJ at our club night, act on stage, or perform in a live band, our Academies can help you to achieve your goals.

Free to attend fitness and exercise sessions for young people ages 13-19 and up to 25 with SEND. Sessions will provide a diverse range of activities such as boxing training and circuits, as well as more traditional gym classes to appeal to as a wide range of the young community as possible and maximise participation.
For 16-19 years old. Are you unsure of what you want to do for a career? Come along to one of our drop in sessions and chat to the team about what options are available.

Monthly themed fun family session for children 0-8 years and their parents and carers.
East End Pool has inclusive swimming sessions. These are for people with sensory needs or disabilities.
There is a Disability changing room/shower and also a pool hoist for easy access into the pool. We also offer changing facilities for young people with continence issues.

Gosforth Civic Theatre is an arts venue, café and community hub in Gosforth, and is home to, and run by, Liberdade Community Development Trust.
We opened Gosforth Civic Theatre in 2016, and in 2019 we hosted more than 900 events and activities, and invited over 50,000 people through our doors. In the words of Ozzy, one of our founding members, we opened the theatre because;

ICEbox is a youth club for young disabled people aged 16-25. It is ran by professional artists and support staff at the studio on Mosley Street.
Every Wednesday: 6.30pm-8.45pm
Each session costs £5. You can attend on a pay as you go basis.

All of our libraries are autism friendly. To do this we have:

We have also introduced a quieter hour from 10am to 11am every Saturday on Level 3 of City Library. We avoid making any excess noise to make the library quieter and calmer to help customers with autism and other additional needs.

A weekly Clothes Bar providing children’s clothes to local families in need. All clothes are in good condition and are washed and ironed. Tea, coffee and toast are also available free of charge, and you’re welcome to stay and chat over a cuppa. No charge is made for clothes and all contributions of children’s clothes in good condition (including local school uniforms) are very gratefully received.
A monthly Saturday social get-together for warm and friendly chat while completing any craft that you wish to bring along with you! Small and friendly group – anyone is welcome to join us.

Programme for Neurodivergent Young People aged 11-25
A peer support group for people who have recently found out they are neurodivergent, or are waiting for diagnosis. Referral only.
Referrals to Masquer-Aid should be made through the NHS Newcastle and Gateshead Children and Young People's Service (CYPS), who can be contacted by their website, telephone 0191 246 6913 or freephone 0800 652 2864.
A dedicated trampoline session for customers with special educational needs and disabilities. These sessions will not be available for the general public. Trampoline socks must be worn.
Thursdays: 3:00pm-6:00pm

Swimming is an essential life skill for everyone. We believe that everyone should feel comfortable and confident in the water.
We offer a variety of swimming lessons tailored for both adults and children, including those with:

Explore the science centre with fewer visitors, less noise, and enjoy relaxed performances in our planetarium and Science Theatre. Lighting and sound levels will be altered where possible to accommodate those with sensory needs. For example, hand-dryers in toilets will be turned off for the duration of the session.
Relaxed Sunday Sessions run from 10:00am - 12:00pm. You are welcome to stay after this time if you wish, but please note that our traditional programme, lighting, and sound levels will gradually resume from 12:00pm.
