The Turf @ St John's is a community facility run by St John's Primary School.
Between the hours of 9am and 4.30pm the Turf is often used by the school, however external bookings may be available for the pitch and the indoor hall & activity area. From 5pm to 9.30pm every weekday and all across the weekend a variety of sessions take place or the turf is available for private hire at extremely competitive prices
Our pitch is ideal for junior football training & 7 v 7 matches, and adult social games with friends or colleagues.

Elswick community leisure centre is a community-led, not-for-profit centre for fitness, health and fun, which houses a public gym, swimming pool, space for community events, meetings and fitness classes.

Throughout our camps, the children will get the opportunity to take part in lots of different activities ranging from a variety of arts and crafts to dance and fitness as well as board games, and sports games. The days are open to boys and girls from Yr3 - Yr6, the camps are FREE for FSM children and include a hot, nutritious meal and snacks throughout the day. Masquer-aid is a programme for young people aged 11-25 who have or are waiting for a diagnosis of neurodivergence. They will take part in a 12 week programme where they learn about what it means to be neurodivergent and talk about shared experiences.
Masquer-Aid referrals must be made through the NHS Newcastle and Gateshead Children and Young People’s Service (CYPS), who can be contacted:
