We love story times at Newcastle Libraries. These sessions
- encourage language development,
- help foster a love of books,
- are really, really fun!
Enjoy stories in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Explore what the library has to offer and make friends. Listen to stories that will encourage young children to develop a life-long love of books from an early age. These sessions do not need to be pre-booked, please feel free to drop in.

The Great Run Company deliver some of the finest sporting events in existence across the UK. Alongside the event arm of the business, additional product lines include Film Nova, a UK based film production arm operating globally with partners including BBC Sport, FIFA and international athletic competitions. We will gain insight into the size and scale of the firm and talk to staff before taking part in a hands on activity on the quayside. Lunch will be provided.

We are seeking a cohort of 12 students who are seriously considering committing to a future career in law as we take them into two very different and very well regarded Newcastle based law firms. Taking place across two consecutive mornings, students will join Jacksons Law on day one and Womble Bond Dickinson on day two and explore family, personal, commercial, employment, regulatory, banking, tax and property law.

For 16-19 years old. Are you unsure of what you want to do for a career? Come along to one of our drop in sessions and chat to the team about what options are available.

Fun and friendly soft play at Galafield Family Hub.
There are two areas in our soft play. One is for younger children 0-2 years old. The other area is for 2-6 year olds.
A fun, weekly girls youth session. This is a youth led group.

A parent and toddler group for all parents and babies / toddlers.
We provide free tea & coffee with biscuits & juice. We also offer free surplus food for those who need it.
As part of the SEND Celebration Events in June 2024, 'Skills for People' organised two Pamper Days for Newcastle Parent/Carers of children and young people with additional needs.
Parents/carers came along for a free morning of pampering, relaxation, a tasty lunch and a chat with other parent/carers.

Monthly themed fun family session for children 0-8 years and their parents and carers.
Our group is welcoming, friendly and an inclusive mainstream session. We are open to every child under 5. This is a music session.
We offer:
- a safe and stimulating baby area
- Physical activity
Calling all dads and male carers. Join us, with the children you look after, for a fun filled play session.
This is a drop in session - no need to book.
A parent and toddler group is a welcoming and friendly group of adults. This includes mothers, fathers, childminders or carers.
They all come together in their own community with their children who are under the age of 5.
Parent and toddler groups offer play opportunities for children from birth to 5 year old, as well as an opportunity to mix with others. They also offer support to adults and a break from the normal routines of the day.
Booking maybe required at some groups.
East End Pool has inclusive swimming sessions. These are for people with sensory needs or disabilities.
There is a Disability changing room/shower and also a pool hoist for easy access into the pool. We also offer changing facilities for young people with continence issues.

Walker Outdoor Week
Monday 21st and Tuesday 22nd July at Stott's Park (East End football club) from 12-3pm.
Wednesday 23rd, Thursday 24th and Friday 25th July at Walker park (Scrogg Road) from 12-3pm.
Our annual Walker outdoor week consist of 5 days of fun, fitness and friendly activities free of charge to children and young people. The program will be on offer across 2 parks in the East end of the city.


We are Olympic-style wrestling club located in East End Pool in Byker. We will be having mini wrestling camps for kids and teens this summer on Fridays including lots of games, activities, and healthy food options after from the poolside café.
Every Friday during the summer break (1:30pm-3:30pm kids; 3:30pm-5:30pm teens)

The programme is designed for children with Special Educational Needs that are in receipt of benefit related free school meals (FSM) and is part of Street Games' HAF programme which is their implementation of the Holiday Activities and Food programme funded by the DfE.


Holiday camp with various activities including arts, crafts, drawing , football, dodgeball, Fun and Games , parachute games, and much more.
