Bright Minds @ Mountfield has a vibrant atmosphere, a child directed environment and a huge range of activities that children can choose to play. Children are happy and have a say in the way in which the setting is run.
We are a NOT-for-PROFIT group keeping our fees low. We offer funded places. 15 hours and 30 hours available.
We are based in a modern, purpose built classroom in the Early Years section at Westerhope Primary School. We have a large outdoor play area with a wide range of equipment. We also have use of the school field, forest school area, and outdoor stage.
We have a stimulating and welcoming environment with good grades throughout and OUTSTANDING for Personal development, behaviour and welfare from our Ofsted inspection 25/4/2019.
We have a well resourced main room which houses all our resources ie small world toys, building blocks, large/ small cars, garages, castles, dolls houses, chalk boards, a large range of arts and crafts material and equipment, jigsaws for varying ages and abilities, musical instruments, home corner, library area, computer area and changing area.
The Little Lotus Nursery
We provide childcare for funded, private and childcare vouchers.
We offer an exciting environment where children have safe and secure access to our outdoor play area. We follow to EYFS and development matters statutory framework and all the staff are fully qualified at level 3 or above with plenty of experience in childcare.
PEGS Pre-School is situated in St Charles Church Hall which is a large modern building. There is a large hall and a lovely outdoor play area. Inside the children can play with the various toys that are put out on tables and mats or they can paint at the easels.
Every day there is an adult led activity which the children are encouraged to try. There is a home corner, with a kitchen and various role play toys. There is also a quiet corner where the children can sit and read or carry out quieter activities.
The Little Hut Pre-School is a graduate led setting, we offer quality childcare in a warm, caring, homely environment.
The pre-school provides a well planned and organised play environment that offers children rich and stimulating experiences, alongside opportunities to explore, experiment, plan and make decisions for themselves.
Shooting Stars offer high quality early years childcare and education from birth to 5 years. We also offer a wrap around care service for school aged children as well as a specialized 'Super Stars' (aged 5 - 11 years) holiday club. With highly experienced and qualified staff, including a fully qualified early years teacher to teach the 'Big stars' (aged 3 - 4 years)
Shooting Stars is open all year round (except 2 weeks over Christmas) Monday to Friday 7.30am till 6.00pm. We do morning, afternoon and full day sessions. We offer funded places and accept tax free childcare.
Footsteps Nunsmoor is an accessible, open plan early years setting, we offer part time places for children aged 2-5 years either morning or afternoon sessions.
- We offer 2, 3, and 4 years funded education as well as paid for places.
- We provide a wrap around service to the onsite nursery school at English Martyrs’
- We offer access to our breakfast and after school clubs on site, so children can access childcare from 8:00am-5:50pm for children ages 3 and over.
- We also offer a holiday club
Our playgroup is opened in September 2017 for children aged 18 months plus.
We are a small setting based in the grounds of St Catherine's RC Primary School, Sandyford.
We have a lovely room in the school with our own outdoor area.

We provide a warm and friendly environment for children to reach their full potential by offering an extensive variety of play opportunities, covering all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage. Including role play, exploration area, maths area and sand/ water play.
The service supports young people living in Newcastle, through a range of projects offering holistic support, information and advice. All interventions are delivered with the Barnardo’s Trauma Informed practice. Projects include: The Independence Project: Young People aged 12-18 years. 1:1 support, for up to 6months. Sibs is a UK charity for siblings who may be finding it hard to cope with a brother or sister who is disabled, has special educational needs or a serious long term condition.
It is the only UK charity representing the needs of over half a million young siblings and over one and a half million adult siblings.
Sibs can give information and advice both over the phone and online. Sibs also runs YoungSibs, an online only support service for siblings in the UK aged 7 to 17.
Family Rights Group promotes policies and practices that keep children safe within their family and strengthen the family and community networks of those children who cannot live at home.
We campaign for families to have their voice heard, be treated fairly and get help early to prevent problems escalating.

All Valued are accessible films about tackling hate, extremism and radicalisation. The films feature:

- a rap about checking your values
- pause and reflect activities to help people talk through some of the issues presented in the film
The films were produced as part of The Twisting Ducks Building A Stronger Britain Together project, funded by the Home Office
Our five Auton residential children's homes can be found in Newcastle, Sunderland and Darlington. Each home offers professional care and a stable environment for young people aged between seven and 17 who are unable to live with their own families.
