Our focus is on preparing young people aged 14-19 for the world of work. We achieve this using our state of the art learning facilities in the heart of the West End of the city.

What is The Angelou Centre?

Headliners (UK) is a national youth charity that works to empower young people and young to adults to have a voice through a unique journalism programme.  This project is to work young people who are 16-25 from new, emerging and established migrant communities from Tyneside.

Liberdade provide performing arts and health and well-being courses for adults with learning disabilities and autism. Activities are run from Gosforth Civic Theatre

Our arts and health activities can be part of a study programme for post-16 SEN students. They can also be an alternative to social and further education for students leaving college.

We work with multinational, UK and local employers in a wide range of industries to support you from Pre 16 into employment, apprenticeships and training. PRISM NE  is a support group for trans and non-binary young people set up by young people themselves, to provide a space where they are free to be who they are.  We plan activities, workshops, occasional trips and residentials.

Every 2 weeks

Home Education Days have been designed for home educated children to benefit from our curriculum-linked workshops, which reflect current and relevant STEM themes and topics.  

Children experience working like scientists in a lab setting which they would not have access to at home. Families can also explore the science centre at leisure rather than having a ‘school style’ schedule to follow.
