Cowgate Young Theatre Makers is an exciting new drama group for children and young people. It is run by Unfolding Theatre and Projects4Change.
The group will use
- drama,
- theatre making,
- movement
- creative writing to create and share stories together.
Children and young people interested in off-stage roles are also welcome. These include technicians, sound, lighting and set design.
The group is open to children and young people aged between 8 and 14 years old.

Gosforth Civic Theatre is an arts venue, café and community hub in Gosforth, and is home to, and run by, Liberdade Community Development Trust.
We opened Gosforth Civic Theatre in 2016, and in 2019 we hosted more than 900 events and activities, and invited over 50,000 people through our doors. In the words of Ozzy, one of our founding members, we opened the theatre because;

PRISM NE is a support group for trans and non-binary young people set up by young people themselves, to provide a space where they are free to be who they are. We plan activities, workshops, occasional trips and residentials.

Ran by professional artists and support staff, ICEbox is a youth club for young disabled people aged 16-25.
Based at our studios on Mosley Street, the club runs every Wednesday. Club times are 6.30pm - 8.45pm. You can attend on a pay as you go basis.
ICEbox offers a range of arts, drama, media, and craft activities. It is also a social space to chill and connect with friends.
Sport & physical activity sessions and events for children, young people with SEND. Siblings are welcome to attend too!
Our sessions and events are taking place across the North East. We are not postcode restricted, so please book onto any sessions/events you are able to travel to!

We are planning some fantastic family fun days at Byker Sands Family Centre this Summer. Ideal for primary school aged children but older siblings are welcome.
Parents/carers need to stay with their child during the session.
The Tim Lamb Centre offers activities and facilities for disabled children and families. We have a soft play area, a sensory room, a toddler playroom, and a games room. We also have a large, enclosed outdoor playground for sensory play. The building is wheelchair accessible.
Each week in the summer holidays our events will celebrate a different country. We have activities planned which include drum and mask making and garden games.
We are a social centre for people of all ages living with disabilities. Our facilities include a hydrotherapy suite, sensory rooms, a music room, and a cafe. We have different activities happening this summer, including animal adventures, and music sessions.
The dates of our summer sessions are:
Pathways 4 All's first over-16's SEN Festival Party Saturday 7th September, 4pm - 8.30pm. An opportunity to have fun and meet new friends. There will be live music, a laser show, bubble artist, fire eater, and illuminated disco. There will be snacks and soft drinks available to buy. Dress to impress festival style - bright colours and sparkles recommended. The crazier the better!
All of our libraries are autism friendly. To do this we have:
- provided staff training
- created 'calm zone' areas with autism friendly furniture
- put up posters to promote that we are autism friendly
We have also introduced a quieter hour from 10am to 11am every Saturday on Level 3 of City Library. We avoid making any excess noise to make the library quieter and calmer to help customers with autism and other additional needs.
