Sign It Hear

We are a Community Interest Company (non profit organisation), providing a range of services in the North East around Deaf and Hearing Impairment. We consult Forum Members for advice and guidance on different projects and issues.

Deaf and hearing working together in Tyne and Wear, breaking down the barriers that Deaf or hearing impaired people face in our society. This includes training, British Sign Language (BSL) interpretation, Support and general advice and guidance.

Training

We run British Sign Language Courses (BSL), workshops for businesses, schools and Young Persons 101 qualification for schools.

We provide the following courses in the North East:

• Play and Sign for under 5's

Events

We also host Signing Cafe events, all welcome, Deaf community, students learning BSL, those wanting to learn or interested in BSL. 

They are held in Caffe Nero in South Shields and Newcastle once a month, dates can be found on our website or Facebook Events page.
