Coping with Cancer North East

Coping with Cancer has been established since 1982, delivering free holistic care and support for anyone affected by cancer. We have a professional and highly skilled team of over 30 staff and volunteers who are located throughout the North East and Cumbria. We support people with emotional, mental, social, and physical health issues so that they can focus on living their best life. Our services are free to anyone affected by Cancer which includes family members or carers.

The work is carried out by staff and volunteers, most of whom have first-hand experience of cancer.

  • General Advice and Guidance

Age Range 11+ for Counselling

18+ for Complementary Therapies, Support Groups and Auricular Acupuncture.

 This is a kind, warm, caring space to be because-

  • We offer small group work - we have clinics for Auricular Acupuncture and a big room for our Cancer support Groups.
  • Parents & carers can contact us to discuss individual needs
  • We have an accessible toilet on site

The Woodruff Centre is our main hub, but we also work out of Local community centres as well as Hexham, Noth Tyneside, Freeman, South Tyneside, Sunderland, Durham, and Darlington Hospitals.
