Cafe Beam on Gosforth High Street provides a fabulous environment for young people with disabilities and learning difficulties to gain hands on work experience and learn new skills and develop confidence.
We are looking for regular volunteers to provide practical support for our youngsters usually for one morning or one afternoon on a weekly basis. This role is extremely rewarding and varied and you will acquire a real insight into the operational side of our organisation as well as gaining valuable experience in working with people with special needs.
Free to attend fitness and exercise sessions for young people ages 13-19 and up to 25 with SEND. Sessions will provide a diverse range of activities such as boxing training and circuits, as well as more traditional gym classes to appeal to as a wide range of the young community as possible and maximise participation.
Project for young people to create a safe, relaxing space to grow their own food and an area to learn about the outdoors. The project will see the development of the areas within the allotment to create – garden for vegetables, outdoor learning area, and a calming sanctuary. The allotment will give the young people the opportunity to learn many skills, socialise, team building, decision making and become sustainable gardeners, growing crops that will be used not only in the youth clubs but at home.

Family Cook, Play and Learn
For 0-5 year olds
Company of Others is a dance theatre company based in the North East of England, led by Artistic Director and Choreographer Nadia Iftkhar.
We empower those who have experienced Othering to share their stories through dance theatre experiences. Together, we spotlight diverse human experiences, challenge systems of oppression, and seek to inspire change.
A program consisting of free weekly workshops taught by professional artists, performance opportunities and go sees for ages 4 – 17yrs.
Snacks and refreshments are also provided at the weekly workshops and no dance experience is required.
Monday: Aged 4-7 years. 4 - 4:30pm
Monday: Aged 7-12 years. 4:30pm-5:30pm
Thursday: Aged 12-17 years. 5-7pm.

It is a free program for Women of Colour and Refugee and Asylum experienced women which focuses on reclaiming our bodies, feeling good in our skin and feeling powerful, with each session ending with a shared meal.
Food and travel expenses are also covered in this program and no dance experience is necessary.

This Early Years Education course is ideal for you if you're looking for a comprehensive qualification to get you ready to work in childcare settings. The course will cover a range of topics including;
This course will prepare you to apply for the role of Maternity Support Worker by exploring the role and discovering their value to new mothers, babies and families. After completing this level 1 course there is an opportunity to enrol and continue onto level 2.
This course explores some of the common maternity conditions such as miscarriages, stillbirths, induction of labour, caesarean sections, baby jaundice and infant feeding.
If you are interested in working in a school or college this course will enable you to develop the knowledge and skills needed to support teaching and learning in a school or college environment.
Gain the confidence and skills needed to sign key sentences using Makaton signs and symbols.
Support with communication for early years development and people with autism, speech and learning difficulties, Down Syndrome and ADHD.
Are you a creative builder? Come and join one of our free Lego Clubs at your local library.
No need to book, all materials are provided. Suitable for ages 4+, children must be supervised by a parent or carer.
We love story times at Newcastle Libraries - they encourage language development, help foster a love of books, and most importantly, they're really, really fun!
Enjoy stories in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, explore what the library has to offer, make friends and listen to stories that will encourage young children to develop a life-long love of books from an early age. These sessions do not need to be pre-booked, please feel free to drop in.

TimbaDash Theatre presents 'Timba Time!'
A monthly sensory story session designed for young people under 16 with complex additional needs. Come along on our story adventurers and be immersed in a sensory world... there will be lots to feel, hear, smell and see, including some interesting new characters! All sessions are accessible and inclusive to meet the needs of the young people.
NE1 CAN are seeking a small cohort of keen students to share a day’s work experience and career insight activity with us at The Great Run Company. Responsible for our much
loved Great North Run and a large annual calendar of UK-wide mass participation sporting events, careers include filming, marketing, operations, logistics, HR, health & safety and lots more.

- Keen to amalgamate a love for sport with employment opportunities.

We join the National Trust at Seaton Delaval
Hall for a four hour event designed to give
insight into the sheer variety of roles which are
available within the Trust. Students will learn
about the organisation, career opportunities

which goes into operating a huge visitor
attraction and heritage venue.
