Newcastle Educational Psychology Service

Educational Psychologists work with the City’s children and young people, aged 0 to 25 years, who have Special Educational Needs.  They have a first degree in psychology and a higher degree in educational psychology.

The Educational Psychology Service is funded by the Local Authority to work with children and young people and their families to provide statutory advice during an assessment for an Education, Health and Care Plan.

In addition, the majority of schools and settings currently pay for additional Educational Psychology Service time, via a Service Level Agreement, in order to give their children and young people access to educational psychology early intervention and preventative work.
