Make a Change - Recognise, Respond, Refer training for DA professionals

Make a Change - Recognise, Respond, Refer training for DA professionals

Harbour are expanding their perpetrator services to Newcastle from Monday 11th March. Make a Change is their free early intervention, for those using harm in their intimate relationships. Please see the attached leaflet for professionals, that provides further information on Make A Change and how to refer.

Make a Change offers a whole system approach to addressing domestic abuse. The model provides a community-wide, early response – engaging with both perpetrators and survivors at the earliest possible point, to prevent abusive behaviour escalating and causing more harm. In brief, the model is made up of the following three strands:

  1. Expert support –
  2. Workforce development – Including a half day ‘Recognise, Respond, Refer’ training course, open to all professionals and organisations in Newcastle. You can sign up for these sessions via Eventbrite - https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/make-a-change-newcastle-recognise-respond-and-refer-tickets-840292426267

Sessions are currently available on the following dates:

  • Thursday 21st March, 1.00 - 4.00 p.m.
  • Wednesday 17th April, 1.00 - 4.00 p.m.
  • Tuesday 23rd April, 10.00 a.m. - 1.00 p.m.

We can also deliver bespoke sessions or shorter briefings to organisations to raise awareness of the services available and work with you to establish referral pathways.
