Our 1 Community
Spotlight - A creative way to make ripples in your community and get a bronze arts award in the process. Young people will look at their community and find out what makes them proud to be a Geordie. They will get live music performances from Spotlight performers, they will take part in team activities and plan their own music event. They can get creative with the stage sets, PA and Lighting, costumes, performances, hair and makeup, marketing and advertising, food prep and packaging.
The end result will be a day packed with fun for them, family and friends to come along and enjoy some great performance and free food and see the young people get a certificate for completing the Spotlight programme.
This is a warm, caring and kind place to be because:
- we have a quiet/calm space for young people to chill in
- we offer small group work/activities
- parents/carers are welcome to have a pre-visit and to discuss individual needs prior to the activities and home visits are available
PLEASE NOTE ALL YOUNG PEOPLE WITH ADDITIONAL CARE NEEDS WILL BE FULLY RISK ASSESSED AND WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND THE PROGRAMME UNTIL THIS HAS BEEN COMPLETE
The Department of Education Holiday Activity Fund programme is to support young people aged 4-16 attending Newcastle City Councils schools that are eligible for Free Schools Meals or in need during the Easter, Summer and Christmas holidays.
