A group for anyone who has autism. Meet the first Wednesday of the month at Skills for People. It runs from 6pm to 8pm If you would like to come please ring the office on 0191 281 8737 and let us know.
This is a FREE service for parents/carers of children going through the diagnostic process or with a diagnosis of autism.
These groups give support, advice and information on services available to families. Trained autism practitioners will run sessions that aim to:
Masquer-Aid is a programme for young people aged 11-25 who have recently found out they are neurodivergent or are waiting for a diagnosis. They will take part in a 12-week programme where they learn about what it means to be neurodivergent and talk about shared experiences.
This campaign from Public Health England focuses on helping families make healthy food swaps by using the Food Scanner app.
Our main focus is to work with children and young people most in need, including those with mild to moderate disabilities or additional needs. Our SEN offer focuses on activities and events based at our sites across Tyneside.
We have SEN Community hubs which offer young people (14-25) the chance to meet in a safe environment where they can socialise outside school, form new friendships, and become more confident and independent. (They are currently on hold while we look for a new venue).

For parents/carers of children who are on the diagnostic pathway or post diagnosis of Autism.
Children must be living in Newcastle.
The North East Autism Society run a Family Networking Group, a closed group on Facebook which aims to empower, educate and connect parents, families and carers by:

We provide specialised practical, emotional and social support for asylum seeking and refugee children, families and young people.
Our aim is to provide a specialised and trauma informed service that can be accessed by families or by individual young people.

PALS is a free 6 week program for adults with additional needs and autism, which focuses on health and wellness and includes art, cooking, creating friendships, and confidence building. The session runs on a Monday 10:30am-12:30pm.
