Company of Others is a dance theatre company based in Walker.
Suitable for 6 - 17 years old.
Do you have a learning disability and/ or are Autistic? Would you like to join an LGBTQ+ group? Come and meet us.
The group helps to improve the opportunities for Autistic individuals and people with Learning Disabilties in the LGBTQ+ community.
You can talk to learning disability staff about any worries or ideas you may have.

New Autistic and ADHD Adult (18+) service, wholly led and facilitated by neurodiverse experts-by-experience. The service is open to anyone living in Gateshead, Newcastle, North Tyneside, South Tyneside, and Northumberland who is either diagnosed or self-identifying as neurodiverse and wanting to improve their mental health and wellbeing.
This is a community event with local community organisers coming together to provide free activities for families over 3 days. This includes arts and crafts, sports, cooking, storytelling, climbing wall, fire and police vehicles. Takes place in Walker Park on Wednesday 26th - Friday 28th July 2023 from 12noon - 3pm.
The North East Autism Society run a Family Networking Group, a closed group on Facebook which aims to empower, educate and connect parents, families and carers by:
- Increasing knowledge
- Sharing useful information
- Connecting people

The Tree House Early Years Centre provides a range of Educational, Social, Therapeutic and Health activities / services for children aged 0-5 with SEND, and their families.
The centre was officially opened by councillor Lesley Storey in September 2023. The following video showcases the opening of the Centre and highlights some of facilities and activities available for children and their families.
EarlyBird is a course for parents who have a child under 5 with a diagnosis of autism. It is a 10-week course consisting of 8 face to face group sessions and 2 home visits.
The programme aims to support parents post diagnosis and establish good practice in supporting their child at an early age.

EarlyBird Plus is for parents whose child is between the ages of four and nine who has received a diagnosis of an autism spectrum disorder.
The Streetwise Project Workers offer Young People who attend the Hub a chance to have a say in how they want their sessions to be each week. The Young People like to choose what they would like to eat, shop for health ingredients, prepare the food, cook it for themselves and their peers.
For children aged 5 and under going through the diagnostic process or with a diagnosis of autism.

The British Society for Paediatric Dentistry has launched a set of infographics with the Top 3 tips for preventing tooth decay aimed at improving oral health which have now been translated into the five languages. The aim is that the infographics will be widely used by both dental and non-dental healthcare professionals to support conversations about good oral health behaviours and become a key tool for in-surgery preventive advice.
