We love story times at Newcastle Libraries - they encourage language development, help foster a love of books, and most importantly, they're really, really fun!
Enjoy stories in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, explore what the library has to offer, make friends and listen to stories that will encourage young children to develop a life-long love of books from an early age. These sessions do not need to be pre-booked, please feel free to drop in.

Weekly Woodwork Group
Why not join with us in Pottery Bank's Green space, to learn new skills, by creating items using recycled wood and other products for our sensory garden, allotment and outdoor spaces.
You will learn how to use:
Power drills, sanding tools, hand saws and much more.
So come along and join in!

Community Budgeting Support & Advice - Drop In
Mondays 10am -1pm
Get support with budgeting, household bills and accessing online accounts.
Referrals can be made for more formal debt advice and debt management.
Health & Wellness - Drop In
Thursdays 10am - 12pm (excluding 2nd March)
Wellness checks: Blood sugar, Heart rhythm
Health coaching: Weekly weigh and measure, motivation and support to eat well and move more, tools and techniques to manage stress

Food Hub - Pay as you feel supermarket or food pantries where you can buy low cost food. These often use food donated by companies where it would otherwise go to waste.

The Decider Skills course looks at ‘big emotions’ and how to deal with them.
It helps children, young people and adults learn to recognize these ‘big emotions’ and gives them ways to manage these thoughts, feelings and behaviors in a positive way.
The course is FREE

We provide hot and healthy meals to families every Tuesday and Thursday during school holidays, as well as crafts, games and enrichment activities. We are open 11.15am – 1pm.

We would like to introduce a new project for you all to join in as one community. #JOURNEY (This is a group for adults)
We have been awarded funding from "The Heritage Lottery Fund". This funding will enable us to continue the legacy of Fr Michael Conaty, keep his memories alive and remind us all of what he achieved within the Walker community from 1969.
The project will work through three different stages,

Professional and Amateur Boxing Gym in Newcastle. We cater for beginners & experienced boxers, of all ages and fitness
8-11 years old: Monday, Wednesday and Friday 5pm.

Well baby and family drop in is a drop in for families to access many different types of support in one place. Come along on Tuesdays 9.00am -12.00pm Riverside Community Health Project, Carnegie Building, Atkinson Road NE4 8XS
Services offered will change on a weekly basis and can include welfare rights, education, housing, family health, mental health, parenting support, health checks/advice and pregnancy. There is also a my baby and me group running at the same time every week for babies up to the age of 1 at 10:30 – 11:30am
Come and join My Baby and Me play session. Our group is welcoming and friendly. We are open to every child 0-12 months.
