A series of sector specific cohort events taking small groups of young people on a number of events exploring careers within their chosen sector of interest. Designed to give a higher number of meaningful employer encounters with a variety of employers within a specific industry, applicants will be required to commit to a number of event dates across each cohort group and we ask that students have a genuine interest within each area when expressing interest.

The Radiography Department at the Freeman Hospital are inviting us behind the scenes to understand what Radiographers do, what you need to become one and to physically see some of the diagnostic machines in action.
A truly unique event, we encourage only students who have a genuine interest in progressing into this profession, or to finding out more, to express interest in places.

Throughout our camps, the children will get the opportunity to take part in lots of different activities ranging from a variety of arts and crafts to dance and fitness as well as board games, and sports games. The days are open to boys and girls from Yr3 - Yr6, the camps are FREE for FSM children and include a hot, nutritious meal and snacks throughout the day. ICEbox is a youth club for young disabled people aged 16-25. It is ran by professional artists and support staff at the studio on Mosley Street.
Every Wednesday: 6.30pm-8.45pm
Each session costs £5. You can attend on a pay as you go basis.

All of our libraries are autism friendly. To do this we have:

created 'calm zone' areas with autism friendly furniture

put up posters to promote that we are autism friendly
We have also introduced a quieter hour from 10am to 11am every Saturday on Level 3 of City Library. We avoid making any excess noise to make the library quieter and calmer to help customers with autism and other additional needs.

A weekly Clothes Bar providing children’s clothes to local families in need. All clothes are in good condition and are washed and ironed. Tea, coffee and toast are also available free of charge, and you’re welcome to stay and chat over a cuppa. No charge is made for clothes and all contributions of children’s clothes in good condition (including local school uniforms) are very gratefully received.
A monthly Saturday social get-together for warm and friendly chat while completing any craft that you wish to bring along with you! Small and friendly group – anyone is welcome to join us.

Linking the curriculum to careers, we have secured a visit to Northumberland National Parks Headquarters at The Sill to help improve and enlighten students with the practical application of geography within an employment and natural landscape.

Programme for Neurodivergent Young People aged 11-25
A peer support group for people who have recently found out they are neurodivergent, or are waiting for diagnosis. Referral only.
Referrals to Masquer-Aid should be made through the NHS Newcastle and Gateshead Children and Young People's Service (CYPS), who can be contacted by their website, telephone 0191 246 6913 or freephone 0800 652 2864.
A dedicated trampoline session for customers with special educational needs and disabilities. These sessions will not be available for the general public. Trampoline socks must be worn.

Swimming is an essential life skill for everyone. We believe that everyone should feel comfortable and confident in the water.
We offer a variety of swimming lessons tailored for both adults and children, including those with:

Explore the science centre with fewer visitors, less noise, and enjoy relaxed performances in our planetarium and Science Theatre. Lighting and sound levels will be altered where possible to accommodate those with sensory needs. For example, hand-dryers in toilets will be turned off for the duration of the session.
Relaxed Sunday Sessions run from 10:00am - 12:00pm. You are welcome to stay after this time if you wish, but please note that our traditional programme, lighting, and sound levels will gradually resume from 12:00pm.

Our FREE sessions are a safe space for young people to come and socialise, learn about the world around them and take part in activities like;
- arts and crafts
- cooking
- gardening
- group games
- sports
The sessions are led by the young people, they choose what they would like to do in their youth clubs and plan their activities. Snacks and drinks are available in all sessions.
A registration form must be filled in for each young person.

Join us for inclusive sessions of dance, movement, and aerial at Dance City, held two Sundays per month.
This group is inclusive and has just 10 places so that we can welcome all abilities and needs. Pre booking recommended and Under 5s are welcome but a parent/guardian must be present.
