Our FREE junior sessions are a safe space for children aged between 5-11 years to come and socialise, play freely, learn about the world around them and take part in activities like;
- arts and crafts
- cooking
- gardening
- group games
- sports
The sessions are led by the children, they choose what they would like to do in their youth clubs and plan their activities. Snacks and drinks are available in all sessions.
The Children and Young People’s Service provides a single service to all children and young people aged 0-18 years living in Newcastle and Gateshead who present with mental health difficulties.
This includes children and young people who may be living in difficult and challenging circumstances.

Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity supports families who have a child aged 0-18 years with a life-threatening or terminal illness.
We are a registered charity set up in 1990 in Newcastle upon Tyne, at a time when the North East had the worst levels of child health in the country (Government report Health of the Nation 1990).

Welcome to Circus Central, Newcastle's finest Circus Arts hub! We bring people of all ages and abilities together to have fun, develop skills, perform, and gain qualifications. At Circus Central, you become part of a thriving community. We offer something for everyone from the curious beginner to the die-hard professional! We also offer provision for schools, community organisations and events.
We're a circus school! You can learn to fly in the air on a trapeze, silks or aerial hoops, do acrobatics, walk on stilts, ride a unicycle, juggle, hula hoop, and more.
Founded in 2005 through a partnership between The FA and UEFA Hat-Trick delivers around 70 sessions each week to people in Newcastle upon Tyne and now in Gateshead.
We support the young people to reach their full potential by providing opportunities to participate in positive activities that offer training, qualifications & leadership. We work across the city of Newcastle and borough of Gateshead in areas of high deprivation, the top 10 percent of most deprived neighbourhoods across the country.
Couch to 2k – is our new pilot project improving young people’s fitness, health and well-being. Referrals come via Paediatricians at The Great North Children’s Hospital. Our Youth Workers then support young people to run 3 times per week in Leazes Park Newcastle, building up to a timed 2K at the end of 4 weeks. To encourage participation and remove barriers for young people to get involved, each young person receives an e- voucher to purchase sports clothes, trainers etc. and they also receive a basic fit-bit watch and Children’s Foundation water bottle.
Following on from a successful 2020 summer scheme we now offer a weekly kids surf club suitable for 8-16 year old’s at various times throughout the year. This is in partnership with South Shields Surf School with an emphasis on fun and fitness in a friendly environment. Instructor lead sessions provide children with an opportunity to try something new, meet new people, engage in a physical activity and learn new skills.
We provide after school support for Primary aged students which revolve around different degree subjects students may not of had the chance to learn about before (e.g chemistry, Ancient Civilisations) This also covers maths and English support. For Secondary school students, we provide 1-1 support, as well as free access to chromebooks, free printing, and resources such as revision guides. We have a team of staff and volunteers with different subject specialties.
A mixture of outdoor play, games, crafts, cooking, bushcraft, environment and nature, trips and youth work. Young people help to decide what we do and eat.
We offer a range of outdoor and adventure activities including canoeing, paddle boarding, climbing, multisports, Duke of Edinburgh, coasteering, archery and loads more.
We accomodate school parties from year 2 upwards. Our activities and packages can be delivered on-site at your school or off-site, dependent on the activity. We have lots of options to choose from, with a huge variety of activities available. Our primary school options focus on skills such as resilience, problem solving, planning, and leadership.

We offer children aged 6-14 the opportunity to gain skills for life from practical skills, to life skills, to nights away experiences.
Young people aged 10 - 25 (school year 6 upwards) meet new friends, develop self-confidence and create original plays that reflect their views and opinions in weekly sessions delivered by some of the most exciting theatre makers in the region.
Live Youth Theatre meet weekly throughout the school year, starting in late September. Over three exciting terms young people will develop their skills in stage craft, develop a new play to perform on the stage and explore scripts that have been produced and performed here at Live Theatre.
School Nurses offer one to one support and drop in and pop up sessions to school aged children in topics ranging from mental health to public health sessions in puberty and sexual health they also offer support to families and young children with sleep, diet and toileting amongst other health related and social issues.
