The service supports young people living in Newcastle, through a range of projects offering holistic support, information and advice. All interventions are delivered with the Barnardo’s Trauma Informed practice. Projects include: The Independence Project: Young People aged 12-18 years. 1:1 support, for up to 6months. Support offered at early help level, around emotional wellbeing through a social prescribing model. |

We do not provide a specialist benefit advice service but do offer Newcastle residents some general support with benefit issues. For example:
Ridley Villas is supported housing that provides help for women who have children, who are living in Newcastle and Gateshead who need support with overcoming issues with drugs or alcohol, or both.
Jesmond Lawn Tennis Club is a small and friendly club located in the heart of Jesmond, just 5 minutes from Newcastle City Centre. The club was founded in 1883 and has a long and distinguished history which includes member Muriel Robb winning Ladies Singles at Wimbledon in 1902.
A group for women in the North East (18+) with learning disabilities and/or autism. Make new friends, do new things and feel safe whilst doing so. Anyone who identifies as a women is welcome.
Trips out, coffee morning, pamper sessions and MORE.
There is no cost to attend the group. On days where there are entry fees, ticket costs, or food and drinks, group members much pay for themselves.

Geordie Mums is a self-advocacy, social and supportive group for Mums with a learning disability and autistic Mums.
The group meets once a month, on a Wednesday morning.

This is a FREE service for parents/carers of children going through the diagnostic process or with a diagnosis of autism.
These groups give support, advice and information on services available to families. Trained autism practitioners will run sessions that aim to:


LullaBaby Newcastle offer Baby and Toddler classes from newborn to 24 months old in the Newcastle area. Classes are linked to the Early Years Foundation Stage (the curriculum for birth to five years). The activities have been specifically designed and chosen to expose your baby to experiences that will build connections in the brain and promote their early development. We are a tutor matching service providing home and private tutors in your area for primary, secondary and degree level private or home tuition. Our UK private tutors cover a wide range of subjects including English and Maths and other niche subjects like languages. Private tuition for Entrance exams, A-Levels, GCSEs and SATs are all catered for across the UK.
Beacon Films CIC is a training and production organisation for people with learning disabilities, autism and additional needs. We have been given multiple awards for our work.
Throughout the year, we offer a variety of filmmaking projects. There are also some volunteering opportunities on short film commissions.

The Turf @ St John's is a community facility run by St John's Primary School.
Between the hours of 9am and 4.30pm the Turf is often used by the school, however external bookings may be available for the pitch and the indoor hall & activity area. From 5pm to 9.30pm every weekday and all across the weekend a variety of sessions take place or the turf is available for private hire at extremely competitive prices
Our pitch is ideal for junior football training & 7 v 7 matches, and adult social games with friends or colleagues.

Our group is welcoming and friendly. We offer a wide range of activities which are suitable for all children under 3. We provide a wide variety of play experiences based on each child’s interests.

Changing Lives supports people over the age of 18 years old who have experienced homelessness to find and access sustainable employment opportunities. Changing Lives supports adults with some of the biggest barriers to the jobs market become work ready. The support available includes:
A group for current volunteers and anyone else who is interested in becoming a Barnardo's volunteer.
A varied programme of speakers and practical activities or just come along for a cuppa and a chat.

The Barnardo’s Wellness Recovery Project offers free, person-centred 1-2-1 counselling for women and children (including families) across Northumbria who have been victims of, and witnessed, domestic abuse. The project is based in Jesmond at the Barnardo’s Orchard Mosaic offices but we also offer outreach support in schools and the local community where appropriate.
Referrals for counselling can be made by any professionals and self-referrals are also accepted.

Our group is focused on providing sessions for all children under 5 and their parents or grandparents. We give the opportunity to borrow toys from our Toy Library loan service.
