The Turf @ St John's is a community facility run by St John's Primary School.
Between the hours of 9am and 4.30pm the Turf is often used by the school, however external bookings may be available for the pitch and the indoor hall & activity area. From 5pm to 9.30pm every weekday and all across the weekend a variety of sessions take place or the turf is available for private hire at extremely competitive prices
Our pitch is ideal for junior football training & 7 v 7 matches, and adult social games with friends or colleagues.
This is an open access session that runs twice a week for young people aged 11-16 to come, have a cup of tea, make new friends and have a safe space to be themselves. This session has been funded this year through BBC Children in Need. Young people get involved with a range of different activities including team building, cooking, sports, arts and crafts as well as issue-based workshops, social action projects which involve the community and youth voice.

Our dance sessions are for children ages 5-12 years old. The sessions are a mix of dance and fitness styles including Street Dance, general dance, Zumba, and much more.

The service supports young people living in Newcastle, through a range of projects offering holistic support, information and advice. All interventions are delivered with the Barnardo’s Trauma Informed practice. Projects include: The Independence Project: Young People aged 12-18 years. 1:1 support, for up to 6months. Support offered at early help level, around emotional wellbeing through a social prescribing model. |
We are a local branch for local people living with the effects of Multiple Sclerosis. It is run by volunteers and relies upon donations and fundraising.
For example:
- We provide support and information for anyone affected by MS.
- We produce a bimonthly newsletter for all members.
- We have various social events and outings throughout the year.
- We have a large following on our social media pages

Our Community Cancer Champions really make a difference!
By talking to their friends, families, groups and workplaces, they help spread the word about the importance of screening and how to spot signs and symptoms of cancer. This free Cancer Champion training is delivered over 2 x two hour sessions face to face or remotely via Zoom. This includes children and young people who may be living in difficult and challenging circumstances.

Ways to Wellbeing program has been developed to support parents who have concerns about their children’s emotional wellbeing.

Upstart Enterprise starts their new FREE women's wellbeing and enterprise group on Thursday's 10am-12pm at the Ha-ven in Kenton.
Take part in fun activities decided by your group like stottie making, cake decorations or a bike ride. Raise funds for these group activities through enterprise activities like making and selling items.
Develop your business enterprise skills, have fun and make new friends. Who knows - you might even decide to start your own business in the future!
Opportunity for parents to explore ways to support and improve wellbeing, with themed subjects and activities in a safe place.
