What is the Pop Up Pantry?

A Pop up Pantry is a mobile shop where you can get high quality food and household goods at a reduced cost.

We aim to save our members 50% or more on the items they buy from the Pop Up Pantry compared to normal prices.

We also aim to provide other activities such as children & family events, cookery classes, budgeting advice, and more.

A series of sector specific cohort events taking small groups of young people on a number of events exploring careers within their chosen sector of interest. Designed to give a higher number of meaningful employer encounters with a variety of employers within a specific industry, applicants will be required to commit to a number of event dates across each cohort group and we ask that students have a genuine interest within each area when expressing interest.

We will help you to build your confidence and equip you with the skills and knowledge expected by today’s employers. We work with multinational, UK and local employers in a wide range of industries to support you from Pre 16 into employment, apprenticeships and training. We deliver quality accredited programmes whilst gaining hands-on work experience, learning from skilled and supportive tutors with access to excellent facilities.

Barnardo's ensure that young people and families remain at the heart of everything we do. Including our LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer/Questioning) Whole Family Approach pilot supporting LGBTQ+ children and young people up to the age of 19 years old and their families within Newcastle upon Tyne.

We have experienced staff, available to offer support for young people who identify and/or are exploring being LGBTQ+ and their families.

Support will be offered through 1-2-1 sessions, group and family work as required.

The sling library is on the second Monday of the month at City Library, 11-12pm and is a drop in service.

Kids Kabin’s main location is in Walker; however, we run activity hubs in locations all over the city – from Pottery Bank to Cowgate and places in between.

This activity is for 8-13 year olds. 

This session is for 7-13 year olds. 

Kids Kabin provides regular creative activities to enable personal development and to support their learning and personal development.

Activities such as cookery, pottery, woodwork, arts, crafts, bike maintenance and more! 

Kids Kabin’s main location is in Walker; however, we run activity hubs in locations all over the city – from Pottery Bank to Cowgate and places in between.

Family hub on a Wednesday evening 5:30 – 7pm, we provide a hot meal and arts, crafts and activities.

Children over 8 years can attend without an adult. 

Children 5 years to 8 years must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

This group is for ages 8-13. 

Open space for arts, crafts, sports, games, trips and discussions around life and faith.
