We are a larger than average first school. We take children from Nursery to Year 4. We have approximately 320 children on roll and 51 members of staff.

St. John Vianney Catholic Primary School was opened in 1975. The school serves the Catholic community of St. John Vianney Parish.
The school stands in its own fairly extensive grounds, which currently incorporate two external demountable classrooms and a purpose built Nursery attached to the existing main building.

By working in partnership with parents and carers we aim to enable every child to fulfil their potential academically, spiritually and socially.
Stocksfield Avenue Primary School caters for children age 4 – 11 years. We also have a Nursery, which provides part-time places for children aged 3 +. The school has occupied its present site since 1957, but in September 2008 the school moved into a brand new building, purpose built for the 21st century.

Welbeck Academy opened on 1 September 2012, in the former Welbeck Primary School, to serve the population of Walker and Byker in the east end of Newcastle upon Tyne and provides a first-class education for children aged 2 to 11 years. We are proud to be sponsored by WISE Academies and fully support the WISE ethos of aiming to be outstanding in all that we do. We are rightfully proud of the academy's provision which helps children to grow as individuals whilst aiming for the highest academic standards.
West Denton Primary School was built in 1955, when it was opened as a separate infant and junior school occupying two floors. In the early 1970’s, as a result of the introduction of the 3-tier system, the school became a first school occupying the ground floor
An annexe containing 4 classrooms and a separate nursery pre-fab was also added during the 1970’s these have now been demolished and a new extension was built in 2001.
