Liberdade provide performing arts and health and well-being courses for adults with learning disabilities and autism. We currently have 2 new courses starting in September 2022.
We are Liberdade. Our organisation started in 2003 as an apprenticeship scheme with the aim of enabling a group of people with learning disabilities to set up and run their own physical theatre company.
As a company we made some decisions about what we wanted our organisation to achieve. They were:
Riverside Community Health Project is running three new short courses, Food Allergies and Risks Level 2, International Cooking, Recipe for Success. As well as their Friday Woman’s Group.

The British Society for Paediatric Dentistry has launched a set of infographics with the Top 3 tips for preventing tooth decay aimed at improving oral health which have now been translated into the five languages. The aim is that the infographics will be widely used by both dental and non-dental healthcare professionals to support conversations about good oral health behaviours and become a key tool for in-surgery prevent
Make a Change is a free programme for anyone over 18 in Newcastle who is concerned that they might be hurting, scaring or trying to control their partner, and wants help to change their behaviour.
People can join our group programme (or in some cases work with us one-to-one) to work on understanding behaviour in relationships, and get support to make positive changes for you, your partner or ex-partner, and your children (if you have any).
Eco Influencers is a six-month program for young people aged 16-17, offering them the chance to make an impact on their local environment through eco-conscious projects and social action.
