St. John Vianney Catholic Primary School was opened in 1975. The school serves the Catholic community of St. John Vianney Parish.
The school stands in its own fairly extensive grounds, which currently incorporate two external demountable classrooms and a purpose built Nursery attached to the existing main building.

Stocksfield Avenue Primary School caters for children age 4 – 11 years. We also have a Nursery, which provides part-time places for children aged 3 +. The school has occupied its present site since 1957, but in September 2008 the school moved into a brand new building, purpose built for the 21st century.

Welbeck Academy opened on 1 September 2012, in the former Welbeck Primary School, to serve the population of Walker and Byker in the east end of Newcastle upon Tyne and provides a first-class education for children aged 2 to 11 years. West Denton Primary School was built in 1955, when it was opened as a separate infant and junior school occupying two floors. In the early 1970’s, as a result of the introduction of the 3-tier system, the school became a first school occupying the ground floor
An annexe containing 4 classrooms and a separate nursery pre-fab was also added during the 1970’s these have now been demolished and a new extension was built in 2001.

Thomas Bewick School is a special school within Prosper Learning Trust in Newcastle upon Tyne. It is for children and young people between three and nineteen years with autistic spectrum conditions. All pupils have a Statement of Special Educational Needs/ Education Health and Care Plan or are in the assessment process. They have a range of learning difficulties; some will require a high level of adult support to access the curriculum, whilst others achieve close to age-related expectations in some areas.
