At NYAS we are all about standing up for children and young people’s rights, making sure their voices are heard and that they get the help and support they need. We are very aware this is currently an unsettling and worrying time for children, young people and their families.
We are here for you.
Help you to UNDERSTAND what's going on around you. LISTEN to you. BE independent and work only for YOU. Inform you of your RIGHTS. Support you have your VOICE heard. Help you to be INVOLVED in decisions.
We run a number of arts groups in Newcastle - these include visual art, dance, aerial, photography and music making.
Our groups are for disabled children/young people alongside their non disabled peers. If you have a different art interest e.g. circus, drama, pottery, poetry - we can meet up and try to find a group that suits you.
We can meet anywhere - home/school/an arts venue to discuss arts activities and groups AND we run regular inclusive sessions at The Laing (art), Dance City (aerial and dance) the library (family photo club) and music making online.
Our regular Family friendly session take place every Friday from 3-4pm. At this event you can take part in free creative tasks and activities designed for all ages in a welcoming, quiet and safe space.
Inclusive art class held on the first Saturday of every month for 10-15 year olds.

Founded by disabled people in 1991 Arcadea is a disability arts organisation and registered charity that works to create better access to the arts for disabled people.
The National Saturday Club, 10am - 1pm programme is FREE, has no exams and offers 13–16-year-olds a unique opportunity to build their skills, develop their confidence, and discover pathways to further study and future careers.
A monthly Saturday social get-together for warm and friendly chat while completing any craft that you wish to bring along with you! Small and friendly group – anyone is welcome to join us.
Please let us know in advance if you wish to attend so that entry arrangements can be made for you.
