Gosforth Civic Theatre is an arts venue, café and community hub in Gosforth, and is home to, and run by, Liberdade Community Development Trust.
We opened Gosforth Civic Theatre in 2016, and in 2019 we hosted more than 900 events and activities, and invited over 50,000 people through our doors. In the words of Ozzy, one of our founding members, we opened the theatre because;
Rise Above Wrestling is an inclusive Olympic-styled (freestyle, Greco-Roman, women’s) wrestling club located in the upper level of East End Pool in Byker, Newcastle upon Tyne affiliated with the national governing body for the sport, the British wrestling association. Kids, teens, women’s, beginners and advanced classes are available. Coaching staff with full credentials, first aid, CPR and AED training, enhanced DBS checks and safeguarding in place. Showers and changing rooms are on site.

Our summer camp is dedicated to fostering a fun and educational environment where children aged 4-8 can learn about the importance of healthy eating and regular physical activity. Through a variety of interactive activities, children will develop lifelong habits that promote wellness and happiness.

Led by University and StreetGames staff, 13 - 16 year olds can experience University life! Over two weeks, 3 days per week, young people access sports facilities, as well as an array of brilliant activities such as Young Responders First Aid training, information sessions, cookery and much more! Breakfast and lunch served each day!

Our Teen HAF programme over the Summer Holidays,

Nourish Food School will be providing cookery classes in partnership with other HAF providers across Newcastle that will give children a chance to learn some cooking skills, try new food, learn about what makes food good and have fun at the same time!
This is a community event with local community organisers coming together to provide free activities for families over 2 days.
