Archibald First School is situated in the heart of Gosforth and is part of the Gosforth Schools Trust.  We are a two form entry First School with a Nursery as part of our Early Years Unit.  There are no mixed age classes at Archibald First School, each class has a designated teacher and at least one shared Teaching Assistant. In addition to our classrooms we have a computing suite, two large halls, a library, a sensory room and additional group teaching spaces.

Central Walker Church of England Primary School is a Voluntary Aided School that caters for boys and girls between the ages of 2 and 11 years. It is part of The Riverside Learning Trust. Children normally transfer to Walker Technology College or Benfield School in the September after their eleventh birthday. The staff of the secondary schools liaise closely, the children visit and meet the teachers on many occasions before they transfer.

We believe that working in partnership with families, involving them in children’s learning, is a strength of our school.  The school has had a strong tradition of working with families for over 120 years.  We are a small family orientated school and our size enables us to reassure parents that we can really get to know their unique and special children.  Because we are small we can really spend time getting to know our families well.  Each year has 30 children or less, with every class having additional support to ensure your child achieves their very best.  F

The school is a Community Co-educational First School. The building has a large hall and adjoining dining area. We have six classrooms for Key stages 1 & 2. The Foundation Stage Unit for Nursery and Reception age children consists of three classrooms and an outside play area / outdoor classroom. Thomas Bewick School is a special school within Prosper Learning Trust in Newcastle upon Tyne. It is for children and young people between three and nineteen years with autistic spectrum conditions. All pupils have a Statement of Special Educational Needs/ Education Health and Care Plan or are in the assessment process. They have a range of learning difficulties; some will require a high level of adult support to access the curriculum, whilst others achieve close to age-related expectations in some areas.

Children come to us for 1 or 2 hours per week, during which time they participate in interactive maths and English courses that are tailored to their needs and mapped to the national curriculum. 

We can take on members between the ages of 4-16. The centre acts as a positive, fun learning environment and concentrates on improving the child's confidence and self esteem so that they can reach their full potential. We also offer GCSE Maths tuition, 11+ exam preparation as well as our standard packages. 

Newcastle School for Boys is a school that caters for boys from 3-18. All of the boys who enter Early Years are part of our School community.

The Children and Families Act 2014 requires each local authority in England to appoint at least one person for the purpose of discharging the local authority’s duty to promote the educational achievement of its Looked After Children (LAC) and Young People (LAYP). The Virtual School head teacher (VSH) leads on this and the Virtual School is the support service for undertaking this role in supporting the education of all our looked after children and looked after young people.

The Newcastle Careers and Guidance Team offers impartial and confidential careers information, advice and support to young people up to the age of 19 without an Education Health and Care Plan (EHC plan) if they live in Newcastle or attend a Newcastle school.  (Please note, young people with an EHC plan are supported by their SEN caseworker)
