Headliners (UK) is a well respected charity that supports disadvantaged young people to have a voice. Headliners (UK) has a 27-year track record of inspiring children and young people to investigate and challenge the world around them. We work across the UK providing personal development, multi-media journalism, participation and volunteering programmes. We have a dedicated team in the North East based out of our Newcastle office providing programmes of activities to young people all over the North East. |
ACANE exists to support the settlement of asylum seekers and refugees from the African continent, who have been dispersed to the North East region and Tyneside, in particular, and to actively promote their integration with the host community so that they can lead full and active lives, and participate in and contribute to the community on an equal basis.

Beacon Films CIC is a multi-award winning training and production organisation for filmmakers with learning disabilities, autism and additional needs.
For young people (aged 6 - 19) with no experience of filmmaking, Beacon Films runs a BFI Film Academy from November - February each year, during which young people learn all about filmmaking by creating and starring in their own short film. Places are FREE but limited, so contact us early to avoid disappointment!

Curious Youth Arts Group was established to create a safe space where LGBTQIA+ and/or gender non-conforming young people aged 11-15 year old feel supported and comfortable to connect with one another whilst exploring their creativity.
The group is the perfect place to meet new friends, try out new art forms with guest artists and take part in fun creative activities!
Guided by Group Leader, Zoe Murtagh, we meet once a month to catch-up with each other, whilst taking part in fun creative activities and be inspired by exploring different art-forms with guest artists!

- Children’s provision - homework support, art and creche.
Couch to 2k – is our new pilot project improving young people’s fitness, health and well-being. Referrals come via Paediatricians at The Great North Children’s Hospital. Our Youth Workers then support young people to run 3 times per week in Leazes Park Newcastle, building up to a timed 2K at the end of 4 weeks. To encourage participation and remove barriers for young people to get involved, each young person receives an e- voucher to purchase sports clothes, trainers etc. and they also receive a basic fit-bit watch and Children’s Foundation water bottle.

We work with children and young people age 8-25 offering group activity sessions based on their age, one to one support, detached work and offsite activities.
