Amidst growing concerns around the Cost of Living Crisis, our team began to compile a list of resources and where to find help to share with the Connected Voice staff. As the list grew, we felt it would be helpful to share this information publicly on our website.
Specialist session for young people diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder or in the process of referral.
First Thursday of every month
For young people aged 15-25 with additional needs. There is lots of arts and crafts and other activities.

Our Sexual Health Drop in is moving!
From Monday 4th March our project workers and nurses will be available at:
Byker Sands Family Centre, 19 Raby Cross, Newcastle, NE6 2FF
2:30pm - 5:30pm
To celebrate the new location of the sexual health drop-in at Byker, they are holding a Launch Party at Byker Sands Family Centre on Monday 4th March, 2.30 pm – 5.30pm.
A 12 week evidenced based programme for parents of children aged 2-5yrs old, who have received a diagnosis, are in the process of being assessed or have significant delays in their language development.
Referral of Young Person (0-18 years old) Self-referral, referral by a parent, carer, G.P., school or relevant professional.
Single Point of Access (SPA)
The Single Point of Access (SPA) is for young people with a GP in in Newcastle and Gateshead requiring a mental health assessment or intervention.
Referrals will be reviewed and triaged so young people are referred to the right service at the right time for onward assessment and treatment or advice and guidance.
The North East Autism Society run a Family Networking Group, a closed group on Facebook which aims to empower, educate and connect parents, families and carers by:
- Increasing knowledge
- Sharing useful information
- Connecting people

The British Society for Paediatric Dentistry has launched a set of infographics with the Top 3 tips for preventing tooth decay aimed at improving oral health which have now been translated into the five languages. The aim is that the infographics will be widely used by both dental and non-dental healthcare professionals to support conversations about good oral health behaviours and become a key tool for in-surgery preventive advice. Make a Change is a free programme for anyone over 18 in Newcastle who is concerned that they might be hurting, scaring or trying to control their partner, and wants help to change their behaviour.
People can join our group programme (or in some cases work with us one-to-one) to work on understanding behaviour in relationships, and get support to make positive changes for you, your partner or ex-partner, and your children (if you have any).
