Where Does It Take Place?

At Gosforth Civic Theatre's Café Bar.

Who Is It For? 

Young people with learning disabilities and autism aged between 16-24 years old 

How Does It Work? 

  • 12-week blocks for up to 52 weeks,

  • Typical shift will be 9am - 3pm.

  • Invited to Gosforth Civic Theatre for a chat so we can find out more about you, your skills and what you want to learn.

  • We will ask you to take part in two taster sessions

What Skills Will I Develop? 

  • Welcoming customers.

  • Serving and preparing food and drinks.

  • Qualifications in Food Hygiene.

  • Barista skills.

  • Operating the till.

  • Replenishing stock.

  • Confidence

  • Social skills

  • Communication skills

  • Working safely

Is There A Cost?  

Yes. This can be funded through an education and health care plan (EHCP) or direct payments/personal budget.
