Stomping Grounds North East Best Summer Ever 2025

We’re excited to let you know that Stomping Grounds North East will be running a Summer Holiday Club at Benwell Nature Park this year for children and young people aged 5-12 and in receipt of benefit-related free school meals. Our sessions will be full of outdoor fun, nature-based play, and exciting activities for children to enjoy in a safe, supportive environment. Access to child-led experiences in nature is proven to support good mental health and well-being. Children who attend will take part in a range of outdoor adventures such as fire lighting, whittling, games, crafts, foraging, navigating, swinging in hammocks, relaxing under the fantastic canopy of trees, and so much more. The sessions will take place in Benwell Nature Park but please park and meet practitioners in West Newcastle Academy car park.

The Department of Education Holiday Activity Fund programme is to support young people aged 4-16 attending Newcastle City Councils schools that are eligible for Free Schools Meals or in need during the Easter, Summer and Christmas holidays.
