Tara Wyton Childcare

I have been a Registered Childminder since 2014. I was graded Outstanding in 2016. I provide before and after school childcare for children who attend Cragside Primary School.

Following changes in how before and after school provisions are inspected by Ofsted I received MET when I was inspected in January 2020. The report explains what it is like for a child to attend my setting. I also have up to date feedback from previous as well as current childminding families which I can share with you.

I have a Level 3 qualification in Children's Care Learning and Development. I have worked with babies through to teenagers. Currently,  the youngest I provide childcare for is Reception aged children.

I am a Learning Support Assistant at Cragside Primary School and have worked there for 10 years. I have worked in Reception through to Year 6 and I am experienced in working with children with special educational needs. Being at Cragside complements my childminding work,  I get to know the children and their families really well and its lovely seeing the children around school too. 

I offer a home from home environment that is child centred. Children have access to a wide range of resources and activities. In 2019 I developed my outdoor area so that children can go out in all weathers if they so wish. Meal times after school are a special time where children not only get to share a meal together but also have the opportunity to talk about their day at school and share their news with their friends, there is always plenty of talk and laughter around the table. The wonderful thing about childminding is that the children get to make friends with others that aren't necessarily in their class or year group. 

 I regularly attend training and childminder network meetings. I have policies and procedures in place that I share with new parents. I accept payments by childcare vouchers and BACS.
