I was a Primary School teacher for 17 years prior to setting up my Child Minding Business in September 2010. I have had experience with all age groups and have also had some Special Needs experience including Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, ADHD and Autism.
The whole of the downstairs area is available for Childminding which includes a living room, a large open plan kitchen\dining\conservatory and a large outside area which has a playhouse and is also astro turfed. There is also a downstairs toilet and wash basin.
Activities include the following:-
I attend local toddler groups, local library. Local park , school fun days, swimming pools, nature tots. I have a small back yard with climbing frames and sit and ride toys.
I offer a warm, comfortable & friendly welcoming environment. Children have the opportunity to take part in a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities which reflect our diverse society ie books, cooking and baking, arts and crafts, playdough, computer, trips to museums, soft play, beach, park and picnics.
We have a large secure outdoor play area providing play equipment swings, slides, seesaw, playhouse, water and sandplay we also have a greenhouse where children can grow their own fruit and vegetables.
I am a qualified nursery nurse and ofsted registered childminder graded good with in excess of 27 years post qualifying experience, caring for children from birth to 12 years. I offer a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities to develop and stretch the children and for them to make friendships with others both adults and children.
I also take the children on outings to integrate into the community and to offer them knowledge and understanding of the world. Children are offered healthy food and snacks whilst in my care, this and the outings are all included in the price.
My name is Andrea, I am married with 3 children (2 of whom have left home now). We have a very warm and welcoming home in South West Denton/Dumpling Hall, Newcastle.
I have worked as a child minding assistant for the past year which I have found very rewarding, this is what has spurred me on to become a child minder myself.
I have lots of experience working with early years children, I am an honest and friendly person, I am very flexible with my working hours which enables me to provide child care as and when needed.

- purpose built play room, used only for childminding purposes and containing a variety of toys and games from ages 0-12 as well as a quiet area for reading. Our reading area also has a wide variety of educational posters
Pathways 4 All is a parent-led charity, providing leisure services for children and young people with disabilities/ additional needs (0-25 years old). Our primary service is a specialist play and activity provision, the Tim Lamb Centre (in the grounds of the Rising Sun County Park, Benton). Our centre is open to families from across the North East region.
Beacon Films CIC is a multi-award winning training and production organisation for filmmakers with learning disabilities, autism and additional needs.
For young people (aged 6 - 19) with no experience of filmmaking, Beacon Films runs a BFI Film Academy from November - February each year, during which young people learn all about filmmaking by creating and starring in their own short film. Places are FREE but limited, so contact us early to avoid disappointment!
A travelling multi-sensory resource for children with disabilities, their families and friends. Activities include music, storytelling and creative play. Sensory Spaces appears at festivals and family events in the region.
Sensory Spaces was set up to address the needs of all children at local events and to encourage families to attend. The aim is to provide a safe, relaxing space where children can listen to music and stories, explore their creativity, dress up, play and have fun.

The FAB (Fantastic and Brilliant) Group is a group of young people aged 11 to 25 who have SEND.
Every month, the FAB Group come together to make friends and share experiences. The monthly meet-ups alternate between in-person meetings and online meetings. Learn more on our website.
