Making a Difference North East is a free employability service for unemployed people over 18, who live in Newcastle, North Tyneside, Northumberland, South Tyneside, County Durham, Gateshead and Sunderland.
They can help you prepare for or get back into work, with support and training to suit you. This includes:
Your Health Visiting and School Nursing service and Community Family Hubs are available to support you.

Your Health Visitor and School Nurse can offer support about healthy eating, sleep, behaviour, toilet training, healthy bladder & bowel, emotional wellbeing, healthy relationships including sexual health and healthy lifestyles.

NECS knows that sometimes parents and carers may be concerned about the emotional wellbeing of their children. Ways to Wellness is a service for people in the west of Newcastle whose daily lives are affected by certain long-term health conditions. GPs and their primary care teams use social prescribing to refer patients to the service. Ways to Wellness adds to and complements the medical support that people receive, to help them feel more confident to manage their long-term conditions and make positive lifestyle choices.
We are delighted to announce the launch of our new website for 4-7 year olds and accompanying guide for parents and carers.
The website is based on the three-episode Jessie & Friends animated series, which aims to equip 4-7 year olds with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to stay safer online. It is intended to be used by 4-7 year olds alongside their parents and carers, or within education settings as a learning tool.

Our Story

Daisy Chain began life in 2003 as the dream of its founder, Lesley Hanson, whose son Jacob was diagnosed as autistic at an early age.
MindEd is a free educational resource providing education about children and young people, adults and older people's mental health for all adults.
Newcastle Continence Service provides a home delivery service and a specialist nurse service for people with continence issues. Contact the nursing line for diagnosis and assessment and then the continence service for help and support and delivery arrangements.
