For parent and carers we host a weekly Coffee Morning every Thursday between 9.30 – 11.30am, (term-time only).  Our coffee mornings provide an opportunity for parents to chat to other families and mutually support each other.  

Coffee Morning refreshments are provided free of charge.

Families with pre-school or home educated children are welcome to bring your child(ren) with you, but please be aware they remain your responsibility at all times.

A course to help parents/carers manage the behaviour of people with learning disabilities and/or autism. It will help you understand their behaviour and ways to support them.

Daisy Chain offers a variety of free online learning sessions to support individuals and families. These sessions are available to families in the North East and Yorkshire.

What Autism Central Offers:

• High-quality autism education, training, and support.

• Peer educators who are autistic people, and parents and carers of autistic people, trained to support other families.

Who Can Join:

NEAS Newcastle Autism Hubs are a supportive environment for parents and carers of autistic children. Currently these hubs offer:

• one-to-one sessions where families can discuss any issues in confidence

• workshops designed to help parents understand and support their autistic children. 

The workshops cover topics such as common misconceptions, differences in autistic children, and practical strategies for everyday life.

For parents/carers of children who are on the diagnostic pathway or post diagnosis of Autism. Children must be living in Newcastle.

• practical strategies to use in everyday life

Each month there is a focus on a particular topic. However, you can talk with us about any other sexual health and relationships topics.

There is no cost.  Free Condoms and sexually transmitted infection (STI) test kits are available at all sessions!

Useful Vision is a service for visually impaired children around the North East. We provide positive opportunities and jam-packed events. Our support for children and families helps them to flourish.

Archibald First School is situated in the heart of Gosforth and is part of the Gosforth Schools Trust.  We are a two form entry First School with a Nursery as part of our Early Years Unit.  There are no mixed age classes at Archibald First School, each class has a designated teacher and at least one shared Teaching Assistant. Central Walker Church of England Primary School is a Voluntary Aided School that caters for boys and girls between the ages of 2 and 11 years. It is part of The Riverside Learning Trust. Children normally transfer to Walker Technology College or Benfield School in the September after their eleventh birthday. The staff of the secondary schools liaise closely, the children visit and meet the teachers on many occasions before they transfer.

Grange First School is a community school catering for a maximum of 352 boys and girls between the ages of 3 and 9 years. 

Hotspur is a primary school for children aged 3 - 11 years old. In addition it also offers playgroup (2-3 year olds) Nursery with wrap around care (3-4 year olds) and year-round childcare (3-11 year olds). Children are valued and cared for by an exceptional team of teachers and support staff.
