I CAN is the children’s communication charity. We are experts in helping children develop the speech, language and communication skills they need to thrive in a 21st century world.
Our vision is a world where all children have the communication skills they need to fulfil their potential.
Our mission is that no child should be left out or left behind because of a difficulty speaking or understanding.
We are Speech and Language UK, and we want every child to face the future with confidence.
For at least 1.7 million children in the UK, learning to talk and understand words feels like an impossible hurdle. So we give children and young people the skills they need so they aren't left behind, waiting to be understood.
Our vision
Every child who is facing challenges with talking and understanding words can look to the future with confidence.

In 1976, armed with a single phone in a rented office, Dimensions began supporting people with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs out of institutions, helping them lead ordinary lives in their local communities.
Forty years on, our work is fundamentally unchanged: we support people with learning disabilities and autistic people to have a louder voice, choice and control in their lives. Our 7000 colleagues deliver ambitious, effective, personalised support often with those whose previous support has not been successful.
Atkinson Road is a popular, thriving and vibrant school. We are situated in the heart of the west end of Newcastle and have been serving our community for over a century. During this time we have tasked ourselves in making our children feel happy, safe and secure whilst providing them with a wealth of experiences and opportunities to develop as well rounded, well educated and successful, independent individuals.
We are an outstanding school who believes in our school motto that ‘Together We’re Better’. We know how much you will have done with your child before they reach us and value your input and opinions. Children get one chance with their education and at Kingston Park we want this to be the best. Our vision is to ensure that every child is the best that they can possibly be. In 2014 we were in the top 1% of schools nationally.
